Biggest Morning Tea. May 2018.
The Biggest Morning Tea event went off very successfully, with a lovely range of food on offer. Some amazing cooks in our ranks by the looks of things! A “Big Thank You” to Nola May along with President Denise – they really make a great sandwich – as well as Chris Price, Linda Sinclair and Brenda Emerson who helped tremendously with organising the donated and made “Goodies”. Thank you to anyone else that helped.
Barbara Kent, donated some Knitted Rabbits and Bears for sale and all proceeds went to the BMT – Thank You, Barbara.
The numbers were down on previous years with around 50-55 attending but we hope to see more of you next year participating in this morning for such a worthwhile cause. At the end of the day the tally raised was $701.45
Bus Trip To DOBELL HOUSE, LAKE MACQUARIE.
Wednesday 29th August 2018. Cost $60 per person. Bookings will be open Monday 23rd July 2018.
The coach for this trip leaves from the Panthers Car Park in front of the Club, off Mulgoa Road. For the coach tours we are allowed to park in the car park all day. The coach will be a Hopkinsons coach.
We leave from Panthers at 8.30 am and travel north for a lovely morning tea at Dobell House. Dobell House is home of the famous Australian artist William Dobell. Here we will enjoy a guided tour of his historic home.
After a wonderful morning, we travel to Wangi Wangi where we will stop for lunch at the Wangi District Workers Club, on Lake Macquarie, the largest salt water lake in Australia today.
After lunch we travel through the lakeside town of Rathmines, which was the site of a Flying Boat Base during the Second World War. Our tour then continues via the scenic lake drive to Morisset for a comfort stop before returning home.
Please come along and show your support for our outings.
